UKG Classix Vol.18
We kick off volume eighteen of UKG Classix with the 1999 anthem Liferide by N'n'G featureng Rose Windross (sister of Norris "Da Boss") and MC Creed. Liferide was released on Grant Nelson’s record label Swing City Records, and featured on the 1999 CD compilation Twice As Nice In Ayia Napa mixed by UKG legend DJ Spoony.
Track two is Joyrider by UK Garage diva Colour Girl with Y-Tribe on the buttons. Joyrider was also released in 1999 on 4 Liberty Records Ltd and also featured the Twice As Nice compilation.
Next up is Try Me Try Me Out (Let Me Lick It) by Sunship with vocals by Anita Kelsey. This UK Garage classic was released on Soho record label Filter in 1999 and was yet another track to feature on the Twice As Nice CD mixed by Spoony.
The forth track is Do It Again by UK Garage legend TJ Cases featuring American singer Kat Blu. Do It Again was in released in 1998 on TJ Cases own record label Cut & Play Recordings and the track also featured on his 1999 album Let’s Reminisce.
Next up is the 2000 Ayia Napa anthem Little Man by Sia with Exemen (Wookie) on remix duty. Since Little Man has been released Sia has gone on to become a global pop superstar and hit the top spot of the UK Singles Chart in 2011 providing the vocals for David Guetta’s EDM classic Titanium.
The final tune in the mix comes from UK Garage superstar Craig David and his track What's Your Flava, with UKG legend Todd Edwards on the buttons (a match made in heaven). What's Your Flava featured on David’s second album Slicker Than Your Average that was released in 2002 and peaked at #4 in the UK Albums Chart.
